Community Involvement: “Giving Back Through Dance”

For over 58 years, DANB has been producing “well-designed, highly professional programs’, a major reason for the Company receiving regional and national recognition for its outreach programs!

Discover Dance: “The Mainstage Experience” Students from Alachua, Marion and surrounding counties are brought to daytime PROFESSIONAL mainstage productions featuring professional dancers, musicians and designers in the setting of the Phillips  Center as well as selected local theatres. DANB has served over 126,000 students since its inception in 1986. Presented at Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and the Reilly Arts Center. Multi-disciplinary, grade specific curriculum guides  available on-line and in hard copy. Keyed to Florida Literacy Standards.

Discovering Dance is a program that has been ongoing since 1976. Annually, over 10,000 school children in Alachua, Marion, Broward and surrounding counties, are brought to daytime mainstage productions featuring professional dancers, musicians and designers.   Multidisciplinary curriculum materials are provided educators and parents that address Florida Literacy Standards.
