Douglas De Oliveira

Mr. De Oliveira, a Brazilian dancer,studied Vaganova/Classical Ballet at Nucleo de Danca in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.  He studied pas de deux technique with Fernando Maciel and Gorge Teixeira, and male classical technique with Ricardo Salema.  He studied modern and jazz with Sandro Gomes with further classical studies in Rio de Janeiro and at the Bollshoi School in Joinville, Brazil.

He was principal dancer with Sesiminas Dance Company from 2010 to 2013 and served as guest principal dancer at Golania Dance Festival Dancaraxa, Dance Festival of Paulinea and Unidance Divinopolis.    His classical repertory includes Nutcracker, Diana and Acteon, Le Corsair, Flames of Paris, Don Quixote, Spring Waters, Raymonda, La Bayadere, La Fille Mal Gardee and Grand pas Classic as well as many works by Cristina Helena.

Mr. De Oliveira has been awarded the Grand Prix in 2009 and 2010 at ConcursoToute, 1st place Classical Solo, classical Pas de Deux, Free Style Pas de Deux in 2009 and 2010, 1st place in Mostra de Mariana and Curvelo Dance Festival.

Why I dance:
I praise the dance because I feel that I am more authentic when I dance than any other time.  Dance makes me free.   I love art.   I love dance.
