Linda Rocha | Director of Development

They say that if you find something you love to do you will never have to work a day in your life.  I have been so lucky twice in my life.

I was born and raised in New York, graduating from Queensboro College with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts degree. I met my husband when I was 12 years old.  I’ve had a crush on him that lasted and now we have been happily married for 38 years, with two children and two grandchildren.  I started out in the medical field, which I loved, and moved to South Florida in 1986.  I became involved in the dance community and it became my passion.  I threw myself into every aspect of the art that didn’t actually require me to dance – operations, client related activities, fundraising, graphic design, advertising, technical activities and much more.  As an event coordinator, probably the largest and most complicated event was planning and executing an event for over 2,000 high profile guests, turning the Hialeah Racetrack into a 70’s Disco.  I left South Florida to be near my  children and grandchildren in Gainesville where I am once again surrounding myself with dance and the dance community.
