Outreach

For over 50 years, DANB has been producing “well-designed, highly professional programs’ a major reason for the Company receiving regional and national recognition for its outreach programs!

DISCOVERING DANCE!

“The Mainstage Experience”

Discovering Dance is a program that has been ongoing since 1976.   Annually, over 10,000 school children are brought to daytime mainstage productions featuring professional dancers, musicians and designers in the setting of the Phillips Center as well as selected local theaters.   Multidisciplinary curriculum materials are provided educators and parents that address Florida’s Common Core Standards and FCAT requirements.   For more information: see education.

DANCE PARTNERS

“Making Life A Little Bit Better”

Dance Partners brings live, professional dance to clients of all social service and non-profit agencies in the City of Gainesville and Alachua County; making productions available to those less fortunate.

Each season over 120 agencies are contacted.  They are able to request tickets for their clients at no cost.  Some of agencies participating in Dance Partners are Alachua and Gainesville Housing Authority, Boys and Girls Clubs of Alachua County, ARC, Blind Services, Center for Couples and Families, Child Advocacy Center, Department of Community Services, Department of Children and Families, Foster Grandparents, HIPPI, Pace Center for Girls, Peaceful Paths, Ronald McDonald House, YMCA, Meridian Behavior Health Care, Catholic Charities and many more.

SENIOR MOMENTS

“Providing Life Long Learning”

Senior Moments provides performances, lecture/demonstrations and dance experiences to many senior facilities throughout the year.  Annually, DANB reaches over 1,000 seniors.

We have been able to keep these programs going through donations from generous individuals and corporations.  As a 501 (C)3, Not-for-Profit organization, we are proud that we can help other causes through the gift of our art.

If you know of a service agency that is not getting our invitation, or a school who cannot attend because all students don’t have the funds, please let us know.
