Julia Ponomareva
Ms. Ponomareva joined DANB in 2013. She is a graduate of Rudolf Nureyev Academy in Ufa, Russia as well as the Kazan State Music Academy, Russia, Faculty of Dance Pedagogy and Ballet-Master Degree. She won the Gold Medal at the first All-Russian and International Delphy Arts Games, Classic Dance Section. Julia is a member of the international Dance Council CID. She was a first soloist of the National Tatarstan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, Russia (2003 to 2012) and a principal dancer of the Croatian National Ballet (2011-2012). Ms. Ponomareva was featured as ‘La Carlotta’ in Kim Tuttle’s Phantom, Vampyra, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and as ‘Sugar Plum Fairy’ and ‘Snow Queen’ in DANB’s Nutcracker. Ms. Ponomareva has danced leading roles in the majority of the world’s most famous ballets, among them Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Giselle, La Bayadere, Le Corsaire, Don Quixote, Romeo and Juliet, Coppelia, Carmen, Napoli, La Dame aux Camelias, Jewels, and Spartacus. While with DANB she has been featured in numerous roles including Allegro Brilliante, Apollo, Vampyra, Rite of Spring, Bolero, The Ring, and ‘White Swan’ in A Haunted Swan Lake among others. A riveting dancer, Ms. Ponomareva is the quintessential artist.
