Ms. Pivotskaya joined DANB in 2014. She graduated from the Vaganova Ballet Academy and immediately joined the Saint-Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theatre. She performed with the Mikhailovsky Theatre before joining the Croatian National Ballet Theatre as principal. Ms. Pivotskaya danced Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Nikia and Gamzatti in La Bayadere, Kitri in Don Quixote, Sugar Plum Fairy in Nutcracker, Myrtha in Giselle, Aurora in Sleeping Beauty and lead in Le Corsaire, Napoli, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Bolero, Carmen, Carmina Burana and Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux. Ms. Pivotskaya is a strong passionate dancer well suited to DANB’s repertoire. Among the roles she has created while at DANB are Lucy in Kim Tuttle’s Dracula and ‘Black Swan’ in A Haunted Swan Lake. She is married to principal dancer Roberto Vega.
