Gabriel Lopes was born in Brazil where he studied at the Bolshoi Theater School. He graduated in 2016 and immediately joined a company. In 2018 he participated in the Arabesque Ballet Competition in Russia and was immediately offered a contract as Principal Dancer of the Perm Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre in Russia. While in Russia he danced ‘Solor’ in La Bayadere, ‘Romeo’ in Romeo and Juliet, ‘Prince Siegfried’ in Swan Lake, ‘The Prince’ in Nutcracker and ‘Basilio’ in Don Quixote among others. Mr. Lopes joined DANB in 2022 where he will dance ‘Dracula’ in Dracula, ‘The Prince’ in Nutcracker and ‘Prince Siegfried’ in Swan Lake among others. Mr. Lopes is an exceptional artist with an innate elegance combined with superb technique and outstanding stage presence that is highly desired in a principal male dancer. He brings to each role an intelligence and depth of creation that is treasured in the world of dance.
