2022-23 season announced by Dance Alive National Ballet

GAINESVILLE, FL – Dance Alive National Ballet is thrilled to present its line-up for the 2022-23 season: Dracula, The Nutcracker, Horse of a Different Color and Swan Lake.

“It’s going to be another fantastic season,” said Artistic Director, Executive Vice President, and Co-founder Kim Tuttle. “Not only will Dance Alive be joined by amazing guest artists, but we’re welcoming brilliant new dancers to the company from as near as Ocala and as far as Brazil and Russia. I can’t wait for both new ballet enthusiasts and our longtime patrons to join us this next season.”

Dracula

October 22 at 2 & 7:30 p.m. • Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts

Through the fog and mist of Transylvania appears a sinister castle. Within it lives Count Dracula, the vampire to end all vampires! This is the story of a gentleman, his fiancée, and the dastardly deeds of the evil Count Dracula. After all is said and done, good wins out, and life goes on. With dramatic set design by artist Margaret Tolbert, this Dracula ballet is a perfect production for Halloween season that is sure to send chills up your spine! Family friendly.

The Nutcracker

The all-time family favorite with beautiful dancing, sets, and costumes is here again! Everyone needs a hero; and in this case, she’s a girl! Clara saves the Nutcracker prince, and to thank her, he brings her on a magical journey to the Kingdom of the Sweets, where the exquisite Sugar Plum Fairy puts on a regal show for her. Horse of a Different Color

February 18, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. • Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts

Riding off into a different realm, Dance Alive does contemporary! This performance showcases the thrill and excitement of change! With choreography by guest artists, Company members and resident choreographers, the evening includes Judy Skinner’s awe-inspiring ELLIS ISLAND, and is set to music by Stella Sung.

Swan Lake

March 25, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. • Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts

The most beautiful ballet of all-time, Swan Lake is the story of a Prince whose fiancée has been transformed into a swan by an evil sorcerer. With guest artists Oksana Maslova and Sterling Baca from Philadelphia Ballet, this performance transforms the stage into a world of beauty and artistry.
